Quilting has taken a back seat for the time being. My 6 month old grandson is in need of spring/summer clothing, and with the crazy summer like weather we've been having he comes first.
I've made 2 baby summer hats this week---one too small for his head (big brain like his Nonna) and one that fits, but I don't like the shape of it. Sooooo, it's back to the drawing board I guess.
I have a tutorial in mind from liberatedmind.com, that involves mathematical formulas to get a more precise fit.
I see a headache in my future!
Hope everyone's (that's you Lucy) having a good week.

Thanks for your comment.
DeleteI've made 3 sun hats this week alone. M has a large head, and the first 2 didn't fit him.
I made one by Jessica from Running With Scissors posted at LivingwithPunks.com
http://www.livingwithpunks.com/2011/06/sys-scrappy-sun-hat.html
The second I made (that did fit) was from Prudent Baby.com
http://prudentbaby.com/2010/04/baby-kid/summery-sun-hat-with-free-downloadable-pattern-2/.
I have another cut & ready to sew tomorrow from http://www.sew-much-ado.com

You should have an easy time making these hats, with your piecing experience through quilting. I didn't get my points perfect, but the hats are being worn!
Thanks for visiting & feel free to let me know if I can help further.
(I couldn't figure out how to make the links live--tried for 3 hours, I admit defeat LOL)
